ABOUT MIRABEL EDGEDALE

Mirabel Edgedale specializes in branding, marketing and wholesale sales of luxury fashion and accessories. Since launching Mirabel Edgedale, her eponymous agency and distribution showroom in 1987, she has established successful commercial businesses of important ready—to—wear designers from London, Milan and New York as well as emerging luxury markets.
An expert at implementing retail strategy, Mirabel works alongside designers at the forefront of change in luxury fashion. On behalf of brands including Alberta Ferretti, Donna Karen, Marc Jacobs, Marchesa and Missoni, she has launched landmark retail flagships and established prestigious, destination positioning within upscale department stores, expanded their wholesale businesses internationally and, through effective PR, elevated their profile.
Because of her unrivalled expertise and inimitable flair, Mirabel is often engaged at the crucial introductory phase of a designer’s business to a new market. And with many of the fashion names with whom she works — including Alberta Ferretti and Angela Missoni — Mirabel has developed longstanding professional relationships which span decades. Her network of contacts runs the gamut from luxury brand proprietors to Vogue editors and the best dressed celebrities.
“Meeting and working with Mirabel was one of the highlights of my time at Halston.”

Working with Aeffe Spa, the Ferretti’s fashion production and distribution company, as it nurtured the businesses of a network of influential independent designers — establishing “Made In Italy” as a recognized stamp of “quality and innovation,” — Donna Karen and other top names on the Milan fashion scene enlisted Mirabel for sales representation and brand direction. Mirabel began to work closely with Angela Missoni and Vittorio Missoni from 1997. As they modernized their legendary family knitwear label into a luxury lifestyle brand, Mirabel directed Missoni’s UK sales, merchandised the women’s wear line and, in 2003, launched an expansive Missoni retail space within Harrods International Room. Similarly, as Laudomia Pucci evolved Pucci — the fabled Italian fashion house which Emilio Pucci, her father, founded — Mirabel orchestrated the UK sales and PR in the six years leading up to 2000, when LVMH acquiring its holding stake in Pucci.
From 2003, Mirabel was representing brands defining a new era of accessible and functional luxury. Appointed European consultant for Marc Jacobs, through her 18—month tenure, Mirabel was solely responsible for the distribution across Europe of Marc Jacobs’ signature handbag collection as well as Marc by Marc Jacobs. As she established stand—alone boutiques for Marc Jacobs handbags — at Harrods and Harvey Nichols in London, as well as Moscow’s Tsum, among other prestigious retail sites — Marc by Marc Jacobs proved a retail phenomenon. “Marc Mania,” is how London’s Evening Standard described the overwhelming demand for Marc by Marc Jacobs — which refined the concept of the “diffusion line,” so it purveyed a directional luxury aesthetic at an attainable price — after Mirabel secured for it 250 stockists across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
Meanwhile, the New York designers who followed Jacobs’ lead into this burgeoning field relied on Mirabel for UK and European distribution including Catherine Malandrino, Kors by Michael Kors, Milly by Michelle Smith and Amy Smilovic’s Tibi.
By 2004, Mirabel had a firm presence in London and Milan, where she opened an expansive showroom that year. As the first UK PR and sales representative for Moncler, she introduced the tailored, quilted down coats to the UK market which established the outerwear brand’s high fashion signature.
As opulent adornment and couture—quality craftsmanship became the hallmarks of an exclusive new category of luxury women’s wear, Mirabel represented the trailblazers in this field. In 2009 she was appointed the exclusive European and Middle Eastern distributor of Halston, newly revived by Marios Schwab, and Halston Heritage. Meanwhile, handling sales for Marchesa, commencing from the preautumn 2009 collection, Mirabel introduced to the UK and Europe this line, renowned for spectacular awards season finery, as well as Notte by Marchesa eveningwear.
“Mirabel Edgedale and her team were instrumental in launching Marchesa in Europe. Mirabel's commitment to building the European business was invaluable, facilitating the opening of many important doors for the Marchesa brands. Mirabel’s experience and passion is unrivalled, and she is a true talent in her field.”

The USA market is now strongly represented in Neiman Marcus, Forward by Elyse Walker, Bergdorfs, Saks, Bloomingdales and Nordstroms and key independents like Kirna Zebete, The Webster and Tootsies.
